Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has reiterated that the national team is too big for any player to toss around, this he said during an interview with Austin Okon Akpan of Channels Tv on Monday.
The Franco-German Gaffer who recently agreed a two and a half years contract extension to remain as Eagles’ tactician said that players should be competing to play for the three times African Champions.
According to Rohr, “We are watching all the leagues in Europe where we have Nigerian players, of course we have some players we are interested to have them with us, but most of them already played for other countries at the youth level, so it’s not easy.
“They must come to us to say they are interested to come and play for the National team. We are not begging anyone to come but if somebody want to come like Alex Iwobi, Ola Aina, William Troost-Ekong and EbehiTyrone, the door is open.
It is not for us to go to them and say you must leave your country and come play for Nigeria, they must be willing to play with their heart and all the motivation.” Rohr added.
