Paul Scholes has confessed that he was not convinced about the qualities of Odion Ighalo after his shock deadline day move in the January transfer window.
The Ex Nigeria international has hit the ground running at United, scoring four goals in eight appearances before football was paused in March due to the coronavirus outbreak. Though four of them were as late substitutes
Before Ighalo’s first appearance, he ( Paul Scholes ) wasn’t satisfied with United securing the AFCON 2019 top scorer services but since then he has changed his thoughts about Odion and has heaped praises on former United legend who’s the current manager of the Red Devils.
He’s now changed his tunes by saying Manchester United is the perfect destination for Jude Ighalo and he’s the missing piece in the Manchester United squad.
It wad reported last week that the former Watford man ( Odion Ighalo ) was rewarded with a new eight-month deal that will see him remain at Old Trafford on loan until January 31, 2021 after he agreed to receive a paycut.
The Manchester United legend wnd former Colchester coach believes that the Red Devils gaffer, Ole Gunnar Solskjær has been spot on with his signings so far.
“You have to say his [Solskjaer] three or four signings have been excellent,” Scholes told MUTV (via Metro).
I was a little bit dubious about the Ighalo one, I wasn’t quite sure how that would work, but you have to say that’s worked as well.
He’s a different kind of player from the players we had, a bit more of a target man which we miss and he seems to have settled in really well, scoring goals.”
Solskjær so far has made 5 signings with three coming in the summer transfer window ( Daniel James, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Harry Maguire ) and two during the January winter transfer window to bolster the United squad this season ( Bruno Fernandes and Odion Jude Ighalo ).
