The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has debunked any form of awareness about the widespread of the Nigeria Private Investors Football League (NPIFL). Recalled that Kada City chairman, Ekene Adams while speaking with OJB Sports said the private league has been approved by NFF and should kick off later this year.
In a chat with NFF Director of Communication, Demola Olajire, he debunked NFF approval of such.
“NFF is NOT aware of it and certainly has not approved any such thing”, Demola said.

Meanwhile, Mountain of Fire Ministries football club Director of Sports, Godwin Enakhena also debunked such proposed private league. In an interview with OJB Sports, Godwin said he doesn’t know anything about the so called NPIFL.

“I am a member of the Private Club Owners Association of Nigeria and I can tell you there is nothing like Nigeria Private Investors Football League.”

Godwin, who doubles as the chairman of Kauna Sports Club stressed that nobody who runs a private club like he does, that doesn’t want a return on investment.

“There was a thought about having a private league that could have a return on investment, no step has however been taken.

“It is still a thought, it is an idea that is in the embryo. It has not been proposed talkless approved by the NFF. Before such can materialize, the NFF, who is the custodian of football in the country must give a go ahead.

Kunle Soname, the Proprietor of Ogun State based team Remo Stars football club was earlier reported to be the chairman of the proposed private league alongside other teams such as MFM FC, Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Vandrezzer FC but Godwin said this is not true.

“Kunle Soname doesn’t know anything about the private league, he is not the chairman of any committee for any private league, MFM FC, Ifeanyi Ubah FC, Vandrezzer FC does not know anything about it.”

“It has not been registered with the Corperate Affairs Commission (CAC), no meeting has been held, nothing has been proposed. There is nothing like the NPIFL.

Godwin further stressed, even if at the end such will happen, It is not a league that will rival the League Management Committee (LMC) organized league like many has proclaimed.

“It is not a league to rival the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Nigeria Nationwide League (NNL), National League One (NLO) or any other league in Nigeria.
“No advanced country has two leagues. We the private club owners of Nigeria are just thinking about having a return on investment, Godwin concluded.
