Former Golden Eaglets coach, John Obuh has refused to be drawn into whether the Nigeria Professional Football League has what it takes to restarts the season, amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
The former Akwa United coach, explains in chat with ojbsports that, the preparedness in Europe can’t be compared to here in Nigeria.
“you can’t compare the preparedness in Europe with what we have here, they have the capability to fight the unexpected, even as they have started they did not come in full swing, they are still weighing up proceedings “.
How the league will be concluded has been one topic that is up in the air for a while, but Obuh believes it will be difficult for the league to be declared null and void, while admitting that Continental representation might be the majors factor on the league ends.
” The LMC will check and see how the continental places will be determined, one thing I know for sure is, it will be difficult to cancel the season, especially with what some clubs have at stake, Enyimba have 5 games in hand, you can’t pick out a champion yet”
John Obuh believe one of the reasons why Nigeria coaches are seemingly not doing well, is down to the lack of the enabling environment. While stating that Nigeria coaches are not bad, as people think.
“We have local coaches that have won trophies for Nigeria, a local coach won the Nations Cup for us” Obuh continues”Once Nigeria coaches are given the enabling environment, then we will get the best from them.”
John Obuh further stretched on the fact that Nigeria League needs to to get up, stating that the league have been trying to get up, but they have not gotten up.”
