Ahead of Arsenal clash with Brighton this weekend, Arsenal boss Mikel speak extensively about the club’s record signing Nicholas Pepe and also give honest suggestions on things he should improve on.

In Arteta’s words he has this to say “It’s clear that his [Pepe] consistency has not been at the level he can produce. He’s the first to accept that. That’s what I’m going to demand of a player of his level and calibre. He need to be productive in the space of three days at the level that he can be. He has to be a player that can make the difference, that is a threat, that generates fear in the opponent and gives us a big threat in the final third.

His work rate has to be related as well with that kind of performance he knows that. He’s such a nice kid and he is trying really hard. You have to accept as well, the timing and the way he has adapted for the first year. He’s willing and I’m sure we’re going to get the best out of that. I’m convinced of that, It is taking the flash moments into a consistent mode.

Every detail has to be taken into account because it makes a huge difference. His mentality as well, his mindset has to all the time be like that; to win the game for the team. He’s one of the players that can do it and must take the responsibility.

The club record signing (Pepe) has struggled for consistency since joining the club last summer, and the club fans will be hoping for him to put in the eye catching performance which he has shown in flashes on a more regular basis. Pepe will be hoping to be involve when Arsenal take on Brighton today having been on the bench for the entire duration of their encounter against Manchester City in which Arsenal lost by Three goals to nothing (3-0). Another player who is also likely to be involved today is Mesut Ozil who didn’t make the match day squad in the game against Manchester City, with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta stating in his post match conference that he was dropped for tactical reason.

The loss against City was the first time Arsenal is loosing a Premier league game in the year 2020. The North London club will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they travel to Amex stadium this afternoon to take on Brighton who is yet to win any Premier league game this year 2020.
