Arsenal travelled to the Amex stadium to face relegation treghtened Brighton as they North London club look to get back to winning ways after their set back at the Etihad last Wednesday.

The away side started brightly as they look to take an early lead in the game, young start Bukayo Saka took a shot that strikes off the post. The away side soon get into the game and had a lot set piece but could not make it count.

Alexander Lacazette had Arsenal’s best chance of the first half as his heading from a Bukayo Saks’s cross from the left hand side draws a top save from the Brighton’s keeper. Arsenal’s injury woes soon struck again after a collision between their goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Brighton’s striker Murpay resulting to the Arsenal’s keeper being stretch off the pitch with a serious looking knee injury. Brighton soon had a chance to score but substitute goal keeper Martinez made a good save to keep out Roy Moor shot from outside the box. The first half ended with a 0 – 0 scoreline.

Arsenal started the second half in a bright for and would soon find the back of the net in the 50th minute by striker Aubameyang only for him to be flagged off side. Arsenal finally took the lead on 67th after a wonderful strike into to top corner by record signing Nicholas Pepe after a pass by young star Bukayo Saka. Brighton leveled the score line on the 76th minutes after Arsenal failed to clear their line from a corner kick.

Chances were hard to come in the final minutes of the second half and as Brighton dropped deeper to see off the game. Arteta made his final substitutions in the 86th minutes as Tierney, Willock and Nelson comes in for Pepe, Saka and Cebbalos. Surprisingly the home side scored the winner in the 94th through French striker Murpay who also scored the winner at the Emirates against Arsenal last December.

Arsenal have now lost two consecutive league games after the Premier league restart and their hope for European competition look to be gone at this moment.

The London team will be traveling to St Mary’s stadium five days from now to take on Southampton in a must win features, Arsenal’s Gaffer Mikel Arteta will also have to come up with a new plan considering his team injury woes.
