Manchester City‘s run to slow down Liverpool been crowned champions after 30 years might have hit the rock as star forward, Sergio Aguero might take no part in that important encounter slated for the 2nd of July due to the injury he sustained in the match against Burnley fc on Monday.
Aguero will travel to Spain for further assessment of the knee injury he sustained in that clash that saw City whitewashed their opponent 5-0.
City continued their excellent run after the resumption of the Premier league campaign with a second win in two matches scoring five past the clarets with Riyad Mharez and the sensational Phil Foden both scoring twice and David Silva also getting on the score sheet.
But it was not all good for Guardiola side as Aguero was Forced to leave the pitch before halftime with an injury picked up in a challenge from Ben Mee.
Sergio Aguero as been dealing with a series of knee injury since last season and Guardiola in his post match conference said he feared Aguero could miss the remainder of the season.
Manchester city on the other hand on Tuesday confirmed the injury and said he will travel to Spain for further assessment.
“@aguerosergiokun suffered damage to his left knee in our recent 5-0 win over Burnley,” read a statement. “The striker will now travel to Barcelona to see Dr Ramon Cugat for further examination.

If the injury rules him out of the season this will be a big boost for Real Madrid as they will see it a possibility to overturn the the 2-1 deficit the suffer against the Pep Guardiola side.
