Arsenal’s legend, Sol Campbell has come out to say Eddie Nketia is a top talented that would be a great asset for the Gunners.

The statement came after the Gunners won their premier league matchday 31 fixture against Southampton. Arsenal won the game by 2-0 with Eddie Nketiah scoring three first goal in the 20th minutes.

The arrival of Mikel Arteta has been a mixed one but there’s something worthy of note, he’s trusted the youths to pull strings. And ever since Eddie came back from Championship side Leeds, he’s scored four times and become the first choice striker over Alexandre Lacazette.

Alex McCarthy intended to play a short pass to his defender but the pass lacked pace which made Nketiah charge him down, stole possession and then tapped it home into an empty net.

Sol Campbell went lyrical after seeing his performance against the Saints.

“He’s sharp. Always lively, always pushing. He comes back and defends too.

“That’s exactly what you want from a young player. Fantastic.”

At Yorkshire, the young forward was underrated, making the starting line up in just two Championship matches but scoring four times.

Marcelo Bielsa never preferred the 21-year-old but under Arteta, it’s been a completely different narrative.

The English attacker with Ghanaian roots made only seven accurate passes in the entire game against Southampton, but his work-rate was immense, exhibiting what could have helped Marcelo Bielsa at Leeds right now.

Eddie was thorn in the flesh of the Saints defenders, continuously charging them and he got his rewards with a goal, failing to give up on the attack when a chance didn’t look there.

No one ever thought Eddie Nketia would be the one leading the line for the North London side due to the numbers of options available in attack and he’s truly justifying the faith the Spanish gaffer has in him.
