Manchester United legend turned Pundit Gary Neville has sent a note of warning to Manchester United not to try and ‘bully’ Borussia Dortmund over Jadon Sancho after reports came out that a £50m offer is what they want to offer Dortmund.
Sky Sports on Tuesday reported that Man United were willing to pay £50m for the English sensation , which is not even upto half of Dortmund’s valuation for their number seven.
The news outlet reported that the Red Devils remain the only side to have a positive possibility of having Sancho at their team but officials at Old Trafford believe Dortmund’s valuation does not sufficiently reflect the costly fallout from the coronavirus hiatus and must be cut substantially if a deal is to be reached.
Neville was in the studio while Manchester United thrashed Brighton 3-0 on Tuesday night and said whilen running commentary: “I think you’ll have to pay a little bit more than that Ole.
“I think that’s the problem, some clubs will believe other clubs will get desperate and sell players on the cheap.
“But I’m not sure you can bully clubs like BVB “If Jadon comes up to us and says he absolutely wants to leave – which has not been the case so far – and a club wants to pay what we want, then we will discuss it.”
Hans-Joachim Watzke ( Dortmund’s CEO ) earlier this week stated that the team will not renege their £100m-plus valuation of Jadon, saying: “If Jadon comes up to us and says he absolutely wants to leave – which has not been the case so far – and a club wants to pay what we want, then we will discuss it.
“I don’t think a club will pay the sum. There is also no coronavirus discount on him.
“We have left the period where we had to sell players. I don’t think there will be a summer transfer.
“We have a more unusual situation next year than usual. With the exception of Achraf Hakimi, the team will stay together. That helps with development.” Gary concluded.
