Moroccan international Hakimi Achraf has officially joined Inter Milan from Madrid after a loan spell at German side Borussia Dortmund.
Hakimi graduated from Real Madrid’s academy and made his first senior team debut in 2017 and after just 17 games he moved to Borussia Dortmund on loan.
The sensational youngster who proved his worth with the Yellows as he became a vital part of their squad during his two years in the Signal Iduna Park, and also guide them to the 2019 DFL-SuperCup.
Inter Milan earlier on Thursday announced that Hakimi joined the club on permanent basis, signing a contract that lasts until 30 June 2025. The reported fee for the transfer €40M in addition to €5M as add-ons.
He made 73 appearances Dortmund across all competitions, scoring 12 goals and providing 17 assists. He scored nine goals and made 10 assists this season alone , becoming the defender with the most amount of assists in the Bundesliga.
He also represented Morocco in both the 2018 World Cup and the 2019 AFCON reaching the round of 16.
Inter Milan released a statement confirming the transfer stating that Hakimi Achraf as signed a 5year deal which will keep him tied to Inter until June 30th 2025 and will earn €5 million net per season.
Real Madrid on their own part also confirmed the deal on their official website.
“Real Madrid CF and Inter Milan have agreed to transfer Achraf Hakimi.
The club wants to thank Achraf for all these years of dedication, professionalism and exemplary behavior since he came to our academy in 2006 and wishes him good luck in his new phase.”
Hakimi made sure to thank the Dortmund board, coaching staff, teammates and fans in a public statement before leaving.
