Bayern Munich won the DFB Pokal German Cup by beating Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 in Berlin Olympic Stadium on Saturday. The German champions made it their 20th time of winning the cup and third year in a roll.
Bayern took the lead through David Alaba who scored an exquisite free kick, and the second goal came from Serge Gnabry before half time. Robert Lewandowski added two goals before full time while Bayer Leverkusen scored two goals from Seven Bender and Kai Havertz.
Robert Lewandowski won his second golden boot of the season after scoring 5 goals in the dfb pokal cup. He has scored 51 goals in total this season – He scored 34 goals in the Bundesliga, five goals in the dfb cup and 11 goals in the UEFA champions league.
The German champions have been unbeaten under their New manager Hansli Flick who was first their interim manger on November 6 2019 after Niko Kovac left the club by mutual consent on November 3 2019. Hansi Flick was made the permanent manager of Bayern Munich on the third of April 2020, the 55-year-old German Manager signed a four-year-deal which will keep him at the club at 2023.
With the German Champions making the DFB Pokal cup their second title this season, they will be eyeing to win the UEFA Champions League. They play Chelsea next at the Allianz Arena, taking a three nil advantage into the secound leg.
