Popular Liverpool Journalist, James Pearce has stated that, winning the Champions League final was the most important thing that happened to the club.

James in chat with Kenny Bamidele, the anchor on ‘TOTAL SPORTS’ on Impact Business Radio revealed that, after the Reds had won the UEFA Champions League that was when the team experienced a massive turn around.

James, narrated how The reds had it difficult towards the end of last season, especially when it looked like Leicester City will get the draw or a win against Manchester City in an EPL game that was goalless until the 70th minute. Belgian international, Victor Kompany hit a blinder, that went straight into the top-corner, leaving Schmeichel helpless.

The victory for Manchester City, further jeopardized Liverpool chance of winning the long coveted trophy. That same week Liverpool had to face Barcelona, in the UEFA Champions League, a game that looked wrapped, after the aforesaid EPL side had lost the first-leg of the encounter 3-0 at Camp Nou. The Second leg, should be a stroll for Barcelona most people said.

Against all odds, Liverpool defeated the Blaugrana, by putting 4 unreplied goals pass them, hereby overturning the earlier 3-0 deficit, to setup an All-Premier League Champions League final, against Tottenham Hotspur, a game which Liverpool won in style, 2-0.

According to James that was where the transformation all started from, further stating that nobody gave Liverpool the chance to win it.

Nobody gave Liverpool a chance to win the title, especially that game against Barcelona, if Liverpool had been eliminated that night, that would have been a real heartbreaking season for them, to see the title dream die, in a week, it all meant that winning the UCL ensures they ended the season on high, in Europe”

James Pearce then told Kenny Bamidele, that as much as he expected Liverpool to a give the PL title a big fight this season, he never thought the margin could be that big.

I always had big hopes going into this season, but i never would have believe that the margin at the top would be so big, because i never expect Manchester to lose 8 games this season.”

Liverpool were confirmed champions of the English Premier League without kicking the ball, about last week, when Chelsea defeated defending champions as at then Manchester City, in crunchy tie. Liverpool needed City to drop points against Frankie Chelsea side, which they did. It was celebration all over Liverpool, even during Lockdown.
