Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tanguy Ndombele representatives is reportedly in talks with Barcelona over a transfer to the Camp Nou.

Tanguy Ndombele who was signed for a club record fee of £55m has struggled to adapt in his first season with Tottenham, starting just six games in all competitions since Jose Mourinho was appointed as manger in November and as played just 19 minutes since the restart of the Epl. Mourinho criticised Ndombele for his poor fitness record, with the Frenchman now fourth in the central midfield pecking order at Tottenham Hotspur .

Mourinho also denied reports from France claiming his relationship with Ndombele has broken down. Ndombele will not want to loose his place in the France squad and he is open to a move to Barcelona, who have showed interest in the midfielder since his Lyon days.

Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal has a good relationship with Lyon and is driving the current interest in Ndombele, with Barcelona also willing to consider a loan deal if Spurs refuse to sell the player who cost £55m.

Barcelona and Spurs have been hit hard financially by the covid 19 pandemic and Mourinho has been told he must sell players to raise money for new signings or rely on free transfers, loans and swap deals to reshape his squad.
