England International and Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier, has been given a four game ban and a fine of 40,000 pounds for confronting an abusive fan during their FA Cup game against Norwich City back in March.

Dier climbed into the Tottenham Hotspur stadium stands at full time to remonstrate with a fan, who had got into an argument with the England international’s brother after Spurs were eliminated on penalties in the fifth round of the world’s oldest club competition.

The 26-year-old has endured a mixed season so far this campaign. He was reduced to a place on the bench by former Spurs manager Marucio Pochetino following a lost of form and niggling injuries.

But under Jose Mourinho, he has found redemption and has been a regular starter for the Portuguese manager. Mourinho wanted to sign Dier for Manchester United when he was in charge at the Old Trafford side. He has featured in all of Tottenham’s four games since the restart of football activities.

The England international has been sanctioned by the Football Association for his misconduct and will miss Spurs next four Premier league fixtures including the North London derby against bitter rivals Arsenal this weekend.

The former Sporting Lisbon defender has made 29 appearances in all competitions for Tottenham this season.
