Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) team Abia Warriors is in talks with former Rangers coach Imama Amapakabo to become their head coach ahead of the new season.

Reports filtered in this afternoon that the Abia state based team has appointed the former Elkanemi Warriors handler but we can confirm that a deal is yet to be agreed on as both parties are still talks.

In a chat with OJBSPORT, Imama said; “We are still in talks, nothing has been agreed yet. When we reach agreement, we will let the media know”

The one time league winner with Rangers in 2016 had his last stint with a NPFL side Elkanemi Warriors in 2017.

He took charge of Super Eagles home based team and the national U-23 team following the suspension of head coach Salisu Yussuf in 2018.
