Former Manchester city, Real Madrid and Westham coach Manuel Pellegrini is set to take over as manager of Real Betis next season, the Spanish club have announced.

Real Betis have signed the Chilean manager Manuel Pellegrini to lead the team from next season. Real Betis said in a statement of their official website.

Real Betis have appointed a coach of a high level and big international prestige to elevate the performance of the first team in a three year project” the club added.

The 66-year-old Chilean won the Premier League title with Manchester City in 2014 during a three-year spell at the Etihad Stadium that also included two League Cup triumphs.

He also led villarreal to the 2006 Uefa champions league semi – finals and led Malaga into Europe’s premier club competition for the first time in 2012, leading them to the quarter-finals a year later.

His last Managerial job was with Premier League side West Ham United, who sacked him in December after a string of poor results.

Real Betis fired coach Joan Rubi Ferrer last month after an up-and-down season and hired Alexis Trujilloas an interim coach , Real Betis are 13th on the Laliga table with only three games left.

He won one Copa de Chile, one Ecuadorian league, two Clausura Trophies in Argentina, one Premier League and two EFL Cups in England and one Copa Interamericana.

Real Betis takes a bid on a high profile and an experienced coach who as won trophies with different clubs to raise the performance level of the team with a three-year project.
