The Chairman of 36 Lions football club, Alhaji Garfar Liameed has advised Victor Osimhen on his protacted move to Napoli.

Osimhen has been at the centre of a transfer saga between his parent club Lille of France and the Serie A side for the past weeks.

Despite traveling to Naples to hold talks with officials of the club, the Lille player of the season has stalled on the move.

In an interview with veteran sports journalist and the Director of Sports Mountain of Fire Ministries football club Godwin Enakhena, Garfa lauded Osimhen but insisted he must be very careful before deciding on the move.

If I am his dad, I will tell him to study the Serie A defense very well because scoring goals is all about defenders.

“Let’s put money aside now, this is Victor’s future, his future is not only football, It’s not just money, it’s what Victor will come back to.

“The bio mechanism of how he plays, how he moves, he has to put that into consideration.

“If you look at all the attackers in the Serie A, he must study on how he can penetrate.

“Is it through the left or right or through the centre as he has done in Charleroi in Belgium or how he did this past season at Lille, if he feels comfortable about it, then he should go to Napoli.

“Don’t forget how Yakubu Aiyegbeni use to torment defenders when he was playing in the Premier League.

“Osimhen is our Yakubu, our Rashidi Yekini just name it. It’s all about him. We might advice these young guys or teach them what to do but he will decide wether to go to Napoli or not.

“But for me right now, I will say look very well and check before you leave.”

Late Rashidi Yekini remains the Super Eagles highest top scorer ever. His record of 37 goals for the Nigeria National team is yet to matched for more than a decade.

Garfar is however optimistic that Osimhen can match or even surpass Yekini’s goal record with a good midfield set up in the team.

“Osimhen might get close or even surpass Rashidi Yekini’s goal record of 37 goals for the Super Eagles”, he said.

“All Victor needs is to be focus. He is a proper proper number 9. His office is the box 18 and he knows exactly what to do in his office.

“He is what Nigeria have been waiting for. All the team need now is a mercurial midfielder than can supply him and leave the rest for the young man and he will score goals”, he concluded.
