Nigeria U17 Captain Samson Tijani joins Red Bull Salzburg. Red Bull Salzburg has proven over the years that they have the capacity to produce and groom potential World talents, with the likes of Erling Halland and Takumi Minamino who are now at Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool respectively.

Red Bull Salzburg made the announcement on their official social media handles and described the player as a top talents. The 18 year old defensive midfielder signs a 5 years contract until May 31, 2025 for an undisclosed fee. Samson Okikiola Tijani was signed from Collins Edward Sports Club. He was one of the standout performers at the U17 World Cup for Nigeria, orchestrating the midfield and a good holder of the ball.

Danish Siperliga FC Midtjylland previously tried to sign the player and were prepared to pay 600,000 euros for the services of Tijani but the central midfielder’s camp turned down the offer with the hope that his transfer fee will skyrocket after the 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup.
