Spanish giants FC Barcelona have officially announced the signing of attacking prospect Fabian Luzzi from Spanish second-division side Rayo Vallecano.
The 16-year-old forward has joined the Catalan giants for an undisclosed fee from Rayo Vallecano.
Luzzi, who is highly rated was also scored for by Madrid but he decided he wanted to move to Barcelona instead.
However, reports claim that Madrid pulled out of the deal after they found out what Barcelona had offered the 16-year-old a deal. Real Madrid was reluctant to break their wage structure for younger players and decided not to pursue Luzzi anymore.
Luzzi has not make his professional debut as he played for the second team at Rayo Vallecano.
The forward has played at the Under 16 level for Spain. According to Spanish outlet Marca Barcelona are preparing another offer for a Rayo Vallecano player, with central defender Martin Pascual being on their wanted-list.
“Fabián Luzzi, 16, arrives at Juvenil A of FC Barcelona from Rayo Vallecano. The player has signed the contract, which will link him for three seasons plus two optional ones, in the presence of the manager of training football, Xavier Vilajoana, and the director of training football, Patrick Kluivert.”Barcelona said on their official website .
Luzzi as been described as one of the greatest promises on the national scene.He has top scored for the youth team at Rayo, and Barca will be hoping he can do the same at Camp Nou.
Luzzi’s will at Rayo for the moment, and it would not be a surprise to see him involved in the first team between now and the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
