Manchester City are in a tight race to sign Nathan Ake from Eddie Howe’s led Bournemouth side.
The Netherlands International defender has been identified by Pep Guardiola as one of his major targets this summer. Ake is a very strong defender with proven Premier league experience. He is a good example of a modern day ball playing defender which suits City’s pattern of playing out from the back. The 25 year old hard tackler can also play as a defensive midfielder and left back comfortably and his versertility is one of the major attraction for City.
Ake joined Bournemouth from Chelsea in January of 2017, initially on loan, but the move was made permanent in July of the same year and he became The Cherries record signing for a fee of £20 Million. The left footed centre back has made over 100 appearances for the club and has a total of 13 caps for the Netherlands national team so far.
Ake will find the opportunity to work under Guardiola very hard to resist, as the Spanish tactician is regarded as one the best managers in the game. A move to the Etihad will also provide him an opportunity to win trophies.
