Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first Juventus player to score 30 goals in the league in 58 years after firing Juventus to a 2-1 victory over Lazio.

The former Real Madrid forward equaled Denmark’s John Hansen 30 Serie A goals for the Bianconeri in the 1951/1952 season.

Juventus also moved closer to a ninth Serie A title in a row with the win over the fourth placed Eagles.

With nearest rivals Inter Milan and Atalanta dropping points over the weekend, the Old Lady faced a Lazio side that has been short of confidence in the past three games.

After an uneventful first half, Juve rose to life in second half with a quick fire Cristiano Ronaldo double.

The Portuguese converted a penalty in the 51st minute for his 29th league goal of the season and his 50th Serie A goal. It was his 13th penalty kick this season, he has a 100% conversion.

He becomes the fastest player in history of the Italian league to score 50 goals (61 appearances).

He added a second with a lovely interplay with Paulo Dybala three minutes later.

Ronaldo’s goals means he becomes the first player to score more than 50 goals in the Premier League, La Liga and Serie A.

Lazio pulled one back through talisman Ciro Immobile who converted a penalty of his own in the 83rd minute and go level with Ronaldo on 30 league goals.

With four games left to play, the Bianconeri needs two wins to secure a 36th league triumph. They have their destiny in their hands.
