After helping the club to its first league title, the Management of Turkish Super Lig side Instanbul Baseksehir is already pondering taking Nigeria international midfielder Azubuike Okechukwu permanently, OJB Sport reports.
Azubuike joined the newly crowned Turkish champions last summer on loan from the Egyptian premier league side FC Pyramids and has become on of the outstanding player in the team.
Baseksehir was crowned champions for the first time in their history last weekend after their 1-0 win over Kayserispor thereby breaking the dominance of Galatasaray, Besiktas and Fenerbahce.
Pyramids has already slapped €1.8 million on the Nigeria midfield star and Baseksehir hierarchy is already embracing the thought of approaching the Egyptian side for his permanent acquisition.
Former Bayelsa United midfielder joined FC Pyramids in August 2018 and was loaned to Caykur Rizespor in January 2019.
Azubuike joined Baseksehir in July 2019 on loan and contributed immensely to the club.
He made is debut for Nigeria’s Super Eagles in 2016 and was part of Nigeria Dream Team VI to Rio 2016 Olympic under coach Samson Siasia.
Baseksehir garnered 69 points from 33 matches to edged closest rival Tranzonspor to the prestigious league title.
Azubuike is expected to be in action when Baseksehir face Kasimpasa on Sunday in the last match of the season.
