Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be ready for a busy summer clearing out players who are no longer needed in the squad. The players also are being led by Alexis Sanchez out of Old Trafford permanently this summer.

It’s a dream come true for Manchester United as they return to the UEFA Champions League, and they’re determined to raise the standards at Old Trafford.

The Norwegian gaffer has retirated that he wants more depth in the squad and has come out to admit that the prerequisites of the UEFA Champions League is high and it’d place a greater strain on his squad.

The Red Devils are willing to spend this summer so as to add some quality players to their first-team squad. Getting some new players means a whole lot of surplus to requirement players would have leave or fall down the pecking order.

Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez was the big name on the list of last year’s summer loans and permanent transfers out of the club but has since in Italy for Inter Milan in recent weeks.

The deal is far from completion but the handwriting on the wall shows that he’s set to make his stay at Inter Milan permanent as OGS is looking forward to continue his rebuild mission which he doesn’t appear in, rendering his future at Old Trafford uncertain.

There’s a high probability that he could lead a whole lot of Manchester United players out of the theater of dreams.
Here is a list of those players who could depart from the club :

Chris Smalling

England International Chris Smalling departed for Italy last summer just like Alexis Sanchez did also.

The lanky centre-back joined AS Roma on a season long loan where he has won the heart of the fans and everyone at the club. The Italian club is willing to make Rome his permanent home instead of a return to Manchester.

Manchester United wants a high fee, but despite that the deal looks set to happen despite some reports that he could find return to the Old Trafford due to financial constraints.

Without him, Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have done well in defence and Academy graduate Axel Tuanzebe who’s being regarded as the next biggest thing to happen in United’s back line is available also, so it is almost a mission impossible to see a Chris Smalling return.

Andreas Pereira

Before the arrival of Bruno Fernandes, Andreas Pereira was a regular for Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer though he has been subjected to criticisms from the fan base. And the arrival of the Portuguese talisman has changed the fortunes of Manchester United but at the expense of Andreas Pereira.

The Brazilian midfielder has found game time hard to get since Fernandes arrived in January 2020, he even dropped further when French man Paul Pogba retuned from a long term injury.

Despite being a lopular member of the squad, Pereira could be set for an exit if the right offer comes in due to his lack of action.

Marcos Rojo

The Argentine center half went on loan to Estudiantes in January for a short term loan and despite him playing in a lesser league which is not even in Europe he’s willing to stay back at the Argentine club .

A deal hasn’t been brokered yet between either clubs , leaving his future at Old Trafford to be bleak and he is one of the big names in the United dressing room set for an exit.

Diogo Dalot

The Portuguese youngster was tipped for greatness under Jose Mourinho but tides have changed.

He hasn’t gotten enough game time under the Norwegian gaffer and but he was preferred to Dutch Youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the latter stages of the season..

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer isn’t taking his eyes off the transfer market as he his in the business of reinforcements, with Ole shopping for another full back, Dalot would be looking forward to another home. His age and potential means the club could sell him for a sizeable amount.

Phil Jones

English man Phil Jones is the longest serving player in this Manchester United set up but that status is on the verge of changing.

The veteran defender is not getting game like he used to as this past season wasn’t a great one for him resulting in finding himself out of favour in Solskjaer’s plan.

OGS might sign a new center back and even if he doesn’t, youngster Axel Tuanzebe is ahead of Phil Jones in the pecking order to partner the club captain Harry Maguire in defence and it is so evident that Phil Jones would finally leave Old Trafford after serving the club for nine years.

Sergio Romero

Since his arrival at Manchester United, the Argentine has served in a back up role playing second fiddle to David De Gea. He seems to be contented with his role but with the return of Dean Henderson who’s gone out on loan to Sheffield United on loan will add competition to David de Gea and most likely freeze out Sergio Romero.

Despite Romero is being considered as one of the top back-up goalkeepers in the league he wasn’t preferred over De Gea in the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.

Henderson’s return to the club then would make it hard to see the three short stoppers at Manchester United so Romero would have to leave and fortunately for him, he’d would no be short of suitors.

Jesse Lingard

Jesse Lingard got his first premier league goal of the season on Sunday which was the final game of the Premier League season. Bit there are two ways to it, as it could save his Manchester United career or simply put him in the market.

Jesse Lingard now has super agent Mino Raiola as his representative and has been linked with a transfer out of Manchester, his likely destination might be Italy following the footsteps of his former team-mates.

Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish are both on United’s radar, and if they eventually come it’d spell doom for Jesse and a move out of Manchester United might be the best for him.

Lingard has openly admitted that he his struggling on and off the pitch and a change of atmosphere might be the absolute solution.
