Adebayor had a brief stint at Real Madrid under Mourinho during the 2010/2011 season when he joined from Manchester City in January 2011. He won the Copa Del Rey in the process playing 22 games and scoring eight goals.
The former Togolese captain hold the current Tottenham Hotspur coach in high regards naming him the best ever coach in footballing history.
“I love Mourinho, we had a great relationship and he was the one who brought me to Madrid, although it wasn’t easy for him to find a place for me in the side,” he said.
“The only trophy I have ever won was at Madrid with him. Now he’s at Totenham and I wish him the best of luck.
“He is the best coach in the history of football.”
Adebayor who is presently on the books of Olympia Asuncion in Paraguay has seen him play for some high profile European clubs Real Madrid inclusive in his career.
French Ligue One side, AS Monaco, where he was a Champions League runner-up in 2004, Premier League teams, Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Crystal Palace have all paid the wages of the 2008 African footballer of the year winner.
He also sojourned to Turkish clubs Istanbul Basaksehir and Kayserispor before moving to Paraguay this year.
The Copa Del Rey he won at Madrid was the only trophy he has won in his career.
