Manchester City’s Eric García is very close to joining Barcelona in the ongoing summer transfer window according to Mundo Deportivo and Sport.
The player has taken the first step towards returning by declining a new offer by Manchester City, Mundo Deportivo reported.
Eric García is on Sport newspaper cover as they say he’s close to joining Barcelona. He doesn’t want to renew his contract at city and will leave, either this summer for cheap or the next for free.
Pep Guardiola on his own side, confirmed on Thursday that the 19-year-old did not want to stay at the club beyond the expiration of his contract next summer.
“He has one more year and after that, he doesn’t want to extend. We want it but he doesn’t want to, so I imagine he wants to play in another place.” Pep said
According to reports by some Spanish media outlets, the English giants have set a £31million price tag on Garcia’s , with a report saying that Barcelona are close to landing the Spanish defender.
Garcia is a product of the famous La Masia academy that has produced the likes of Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas.
He left Barcelona and joined Manchester City as a 16-year-old in 2017 during Guardiola’s second season in charge of the Manchester club.
