Bayer Leverkusen Sporting director, Rudi Völler spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport, he emphasize on club’s interested in Kai Havertz to pay the asking price otherwise the German International will stay at the Bundesliga club.
He said “We know of the interest of a couple of clubs, especially Chelsea, but for us, the situation is quite simple; he has a two-year contract, if anyone wants him on our terms, fine, otherwise he stays here another year and we are happy”.
He also added “It won’t be easy, but for an artist like him there is no Covid discount.”
Bayer Leverkusen see no economical reason to sell Havertz, a potential suitor must pay a fee of around €100 million to sign the 21-year-old.
Kai Havertz is a versatile player who can play in any position in the midfield, his favorite position is playing behind the striker.

Chelsea have already signed Hakimi Ziyech from Ajax and Timo Werner from Rb Leipzig with both players cost €93 million, Kai Havertz is the next priority for the West London club but will cost the club to break their fee for a player.
