Plateau State can produce the next Usain Bolt says the co-founder of Jos based athletics club FAST FEET Ken Dabilong.
In a chat with OJBSPORT, Dabilong expressed confidence that in a short time, Nigeria will be having a global star in athletics.
“The brain behind Fast Feast athletics club was to give upcoming athletes in the state and Nigeria, in general, an opportunity to succeed in the sprint”, said Dabilong who captained Team Plateau to the National Youth Games in 2013.
“The biggest problem athletes face in the country is up to date facilities and good training plans, Fast Feet is here to change all that.”
On his part, co-founder of the only athletics club in the state Gonap Rotji also echoed the words of his partner.
“We will change athletics in the country, most especially sprint, because Nigeria has the talent to compete with the likes of the United States of America and Jamaica in the world of track and field.
The Bahrain based athlete who plies his trade with Riffa Athletics Club appreciates the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Plateau State, Victor Lapang for giving them all the support they need.
He urged the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) to work with local athletics club in Nigeria in other to produce future stars for the country.
