Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard is making a late trip to Lisbon to join his team-mates and make himself available for the Champions League game against Barcelona.

Pavard was meant to stay in Munich in other to work on his recovery from the ankle injury, the 24-year-old French right back will now join his teammate in Lisbon.

Pavard trained yesterday on the pitch for a short period, running the length of the pitch. It was suggested that the French international was forced to break off training, but he insists that wasn’t the case. 

The World cup winner spoke to Sky saying “I was testing my boots yesterday. I’m fine”. He is also hopeful of playing a part in tomorrow game.

Bayern Munich will be locking horns with Barcelona  at the quarter-finals stage on Friday.

Benjamin Pavard joined Bayern Munich last year summer from Vfb Stuttgart for €34 million and putting pen to paper to a 5-year-deal.

He made 32 appearances in the 2019/2020 German Bundesliga season scoring 5 goals, he played more in center defense for the current Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick.

Pavard last made appearance for the Balvarian giants on July 4, in the dfb pokal final game against Bayer Leverkusen which they won 4-2.
