Ahead of the next round of matches of Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has confirmed that two new players will be joining the team, OJB Sport reports.

Rohr who has just signed contract extension joined Nigeria in 2016 after the country failed to qualify for the back to back African Cup Of Nations in 2015 and 2017.

Since he emerged as the head coach of Nigeria’s Super Eagles many Nigeria players born abroad has represented the country.

Players like Leon Balogun, Tyronne Ebuehi, Ola Aina, has represented Nigeria in major competitions like African Cup Of Nations and World cup.

Recently players like Joe Aribo, Josh Maja has also made their debut for the national team while outbreak of Corona virus denied the duo of Genk striker Cyril Dessers and FC Koln Kingsley Akhibuzue an opportunity to play for the country in March.

While speaking through Oma Akatugba, Rohr said the players will be invited to try their luck with Super Eagles.

“I have my home office because there was no possibilities to travel, I make calls, by monitoring the games. Games resumed in May in Germany and we have some players there.

We are always searching to make the team better and two new players want to come with us now. I met with one before the lockdown and I met with the other three weeks ago.” He said.

If everything goes according to plan the Nigeria senior men’s team might involve in an international friendly match with yet to be name country.

The next competitive game for the country will be a double header African Cup Of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone in Freetown and Nigeria.
