Manchester United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reiterated that Bayern Munich are the best team in Europe after he watched the German side annihilate Spanish giants Barcelona and he hopes that his side produce that kind of character on the pitch also.

Manchester United are preparing for the Europa League semi-final clash against Sevilla in Cologne which takes place tomorrow the 16th of August 2020.

The Norwegian and his squad took out time to watch the UEFA champions league tie between Barca and Bayern Munich and he has revealed that the champions of German top tier football league have set a standard for others to follow.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer “We watched it and I have to say Bayern are setting the standard at the moment – throughout the season actually.

“The new coach came in and they are absolutely brilliant. You can see everything they do is something to look to.

“Their aggression, pressing, runs, recovery runs and technical adaptability. It was was a top, top class performance from a top team.”

The United squad is far from a finished work and the Manchester United legend turned Coach is aware that his team is a work in progress. Getting to the third semi-final in this current season, making the EPL 2019/2020 season top-three , is a testament to United’s progress under him.

After exiting two cup competitions this season, he wants them to guide United to the UEFA Europa League title which would give him his first silverware as United’s Coach. In his previous semi final encounters, his United side fell to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup and Chelsea in the FA Cup.

“Mentally they will be ready,” he said. “It is a semi final and everyone wants to take part and join in. I want them to enjoy it.

“We are looking forward to it. It’s a semi final – we’ve been there twice before this season.

“I am happy to go as far as we have, but I’m not satisfied. We want to go one step further.
“You know when you come to a semi-final you’re playing a big team, a good team with quality.

“It is time to step up for the big players and the big game moments. We need 100 per cent focus because any little moment can change or lose the game.

“We’ve learned it’s very painful to lose a semi-final.”
