Arsenal has agreed a €30m to sign Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhães from Lille according to reports from @SkyItaly and @jamesbenge.
The Left footed defender has been on the radar of top European clubs this summer following his impressive performance for Lille in the recently concluded season with teams like Manchester United, Everton, Arsenal and Napoli been credited with an interest to sign the Brazilian defender.
It was also stated that Napoli initially had a gentleman agreement with Lille to sign Gabriel this summer should they (Napoli) end up selling Koulibaly who is been targeted by Manchester City. Though Lille made it clear to the team from Naples that Gabriel’s next destination would sorely be decided by the defender himself.

Arsenal came into the picture and made a €30m bid that was accepted by Lille to sign the the defender who has been on their wish list for a long time. The defender has also choose to move to North London as he feels attracted to the prospect of working with Mikel Arteta who is a highly rated young coach. Should the move be completed, Gabriel Magalhães will be united with his former teammate Nicholas Pepe who joined Arsenal last summer from Lille in a club record fee of 72million pounds.
The 22 years old defender (Gabriel Magalhães) is a typical modern day defender who is very composed with the ball on his feet. He also possess the ability to find a long range accurate passes with his left foot and would suit comfortably to Arsenal’s pattern of playing out from the back and would certainly be a good boost to Arsenal’s leaky defence ahead next season.
It is set to be a very busy summer for Arsenal in terms of transfer activities with so many players like Saed Kolasinac, Rob Holding, Sokratis, Lucas Torriera, Mohamed Elneny, Callum Chambers likely to be shown the exit door. The club has so far brought in Willian Borges from Chelsea on a free transfer but they are also looking to wrap up the signing of other transfer targets like Thomas Partey soon.
Get it done
