Former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole has lauded the appointment of Andrea Pirlo as Juventus manager and has becked him to be a success with the Old Lady.
The former AC Milan midfielder replaced the sacked Maurizio Sarri who was relieved of his job despite winning the scudetto.
Cole, 39, who is presently in charge of Chelsea’s under 15 team believe it is a good omen to see former players been appointed as head coach of big teams despite little or no experience.
“Andrea Pirlo has come into a great club with very big players. As young coaches, you never know until you are put in this situation”, the most decorated player in English FA Cup history with seven titles said.
Mikel Arteta has done a great job, he has transformed Arsenal into playing good football, making them good to work.
Frank Lampard has done the same blending these young players in. I think it is a good sign that the club owners and chairmen are giving young coaches the chance without much experience but young coaches can’t gain experience unless they are giving opportunity.
“Hopefully, Pirlo can do the same. As I mentioned there are great players and professional at Juve whom I assumed will help him and help find his feet”, he concluded.
