If the reports coming from the camp of Belgium Jupiler League side RKC Genk is to be considered, then Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Stephen Odey might be on his way out of the club, OJB Sport reports.
Odey began his professional career with the Nigeria Professional Football League Club MFM FC and was the highest goalscorer for MFM in the 2015–16 season, he also scored his first career hat-trick in January 2017 against Lobi Stars.
In October 2017, Odey completed a transfer to Swiss club FC Zürich.
After successful spell with Zurich, Genk signed Odey in the summer of 2019 on a 5 year contract.
The reports has it that French second division club Guingamp has approached Genk to take Odey loan with an option to sign him for another.
Odey played few games for Genk last season but the coming of another Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward Cyril Dessers further dropped him down the pecking other.
Dessers was signed from the Dutch Eredivisie side Heracles Armelo thus summer after he emerged top scorer for the club.
And apart from Dessers, another Nigeria’s Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is also a regular forward in the team.
Both Dessers and Onuachu has played and scored for Genk in the new Jupiler League season that has just commenced.
Odey has only played and scored in the preseason and warm matches.
