Brazilian legend Nazario Ronald de Lima has sent a warning to Barcelona’s Lionel Messi saying he might find it hard to leave Barcelona due to the bond between both parties.
Messi and Barcelona have been in loggerheads of recent with the 33-year-old wanting to quit the Camp Nou club claiming he has clause in his contract that allows him to walk out for free but the club’s heirachy not wanting him to leave insisting the clause expired on June 10.
Former Barcelona forward Ronaldo has however weighed in the on going battle claiming the Argentine maestro leaving the only club he has represented in his career so far looks unlikely.
“It’s very unlikely that he’ll be able to leave Barcelona at the moment, especially when there’s a crisis of results,” the youngest winner of the Ballon d’Or at 21 years of age said.
“Messi is a reference for the team and, if I were Barcelona, I wouldn’t let him leave in any situation.
The Phenomenum as he is being called also feels the six time Ballon d’Or winner can’t stop loving the team.
“He has a great and strong relationship with the club and I don’t think he’ll stop being in love with the team.”
Messi situation looks currently unresolved though reports has it that Manchester City might be leading the race to sign him after his father was reportedly spotted in Manchester this week. Manchester United has also been reported to have shown interest in him.
