Thomas Müller feels he has become more important for Bayern München than ever following the appointment of Hansi Flick as coach in November.
The 30-year-old attacking midfielder said in his interview with Blid that “In any case, this is the most dominant role I’ve had since I started playing for Bayern,”
He continued by saying “When I won my first treble in 2013, I was still young. But for you to take on a leading role like the one I’ve had recently, it’s important that the coach expresses his confidence in you. Hansi Flick has done that,”
“The rest is history. What he has done to the team over the past 10 months is truly incredible.”
Thomas Muller scored 14 goals and made 26 assists in 50 games in the 2019/20 season.
Muller joined Bayern Munich when he was 10-year-old in the summer of 2000, he broke in to the Bayern Munich first team in 2008.
Ever since then, Muller have won nine Bundesliga titles, six DFB Pokal, two Champions League, five German Super Cup, one UEFA Super Cup and FIFA World club cup for the Bavarians and World cup with the German national team.
With Bayern Munich recently winning the Champions League, it will be expected that the German Champions first match in the new Bundesliga season against Schalke 04 get shifted to September 21 due to the participation in the Champions League.
The new Bundesliga season will start September 18, the first game might be kick started by Borussia Dortmund or Borussia Monchengladbach.
