The CEO of Bayern Munich Karl-Heinz Rummenigge spoke to Welt am Sonntag, where he confirmed that the Bundesliga champions are expecting to receive an offer from Liverpool for 29-year-old midfielder Thiago.
Rummenigge said “With Thiago, it looks like he wants to leave us. We are expecting an offer from another club in the next few days.”
The 29-year-old Spanish midfielder have just one year on his contract with the Bavarians giant.
With Alcantara not interested in extending his contract with Bayern Munich, The German Champions are left with selling their star man or let him run out his contract till next year and make him a free agent to speak to any club he wants.
Alcantara joined Bayern Munich in 2013 from Barcelona for €25 million.
Alcantara was key in Bayern Munich winning the treble (Champions League, dfb pokal and the Bundesliga title) this season, with his deep lying play maker role the team were able to control games with ease.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the Spaniard wants to join Liverpool and that Jürgen Klopp wants to sign Thiago. However, Bayern Munich have not changed their stance on their €30 million valuation of the midfielder.
If Liverpool get to sign Alcantara, they will be having a creative midfielder which they haven’t gotten since Coutinho left for Barcelona.
