Brazilian international midfielder Philippe Coutinho may end up staying at Camp Nou in the upcoming season.

Philippe Coutinho reported back to training with Barcelona today three weeks after helping Bayern Munich humiliate them in the Champions League quarter-finals with a surprise 8-2 score line. He returned back to his parent club following the expiration of his loan deal with the European Champions.

The Brazilian joined Barcelona from Liverpool on January 6th 2018 for a reported fee of €147m including adds on. Since his move to the Camp Nou the former Liverpool midfielder has failed to show the magnificent form which prompted Barca to pay such hefty amount for his acquisition.

Injuries and being played out of position did not as well help his course at the Camp Nou and he was shipped out on loan to Bayern Munich at the start of last season. In his stint in Germany, he showed in flashes the form he was known for at Liverpool and could not convince the Bundesliga champions to sign him permanently but rather they decided to part ways with him at the end of his loan spell.

The former Inter Milan playmaker has been linked with a move back to English Premier league in recent weeks, with Arsenal being muted as one of the clubs interested in taking him back to England. Coutinho is also open to the Idea of a move back to England as he has failed to settle well in Spain.

Barcelona’s new Boss Koeman said he would like to work with Coutinho in the upcoming season and is set to hold a show down talk with the Brazilian soon, to inform him that he is definitely in his plan for the next season.

Despite the former Liverpool star desire to leave Camp Nuo before now, he might end up staying put under the new Barcelona boss and hopefully regain the form he showed at Liverpool in Barcelona’s colours.
