Arsenal has been dealt with an injury blow ahead of their opening Premier league game this weekend as David Liuz is ruled out with a neck injury.

The experienced Brazilian Centre back (Liuz) sustained the injury in Arsenal’s Community Shield win over Liverpool. The injury which was minimal at the initial stage got worse after it was agreavated in the training.

Liuz could now spend up to six weeks on the sidelines. The news of the 33-year-old injury will surely be a huge blow to the North London club heading into their first Premier league game of the 2020/2021 season this weekend.

He has been an integral part of the club since he joined last summer. Liuz has not miss any Premier league game for Arsenal when fit and available for selection since Mikel Arteta’s appointment. The former Chelsea defender was very impressive in Arsenal’s FA Cup Semi final win over Manchester City and the FA Cup triumph over his former club Chelsea.

Arsenal would however take solace in his absence knowing that their new defensive signing Gabriel Magalhães can slot in comfortably in the absence of David Liuz.
