English Championship side Middlesbrough are closing in on landing former Arsenal striker Chuba Akpom.

The 24-year-old was on target last night for his Greece side PAOK in a Champions League qualifier against Benfica.

According to various reports coming in from Greece, the Panthessaloníkios are willing to let Akpom go, with claims that a deal has been agreed.

The London born striker is believed to be Neil Warnock’s top target as it looks like Chuba is the striker he was talking about in his press conference on Monday when he revealed his hopes of making a permanent signing to strengthen Boro’s forward line.
