The Super Eagles will be facing Algeria on October 9 instead of Ivory Coast but the friendly against Tunisia will still go as planned in Austria as it is expected to go on October 13.

Ivory Coast withdrew from the friendlies due to their internal crisis within their FA, they sent a message to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to that effect.

The last time the Super Eagles faced the Desert Foxes was in the semi finals of the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) last year at Eygpt as the eagles lost 2-1 to the foxes who became eventual winners of the cup.

Super Eagles last played a friendly was against the Samba boys of Brazil in October 13 2019 as the match ended 1-1.

This week the coach of Super Eagles Gernot Rohr released a 25 men squad list as seven new new comers (Cyril Desser, Matthew Yakubu, Sammuel Tijani, Frank Oyenka, Chidera Ejuke, Sami Ajayi) were on the list for the friendly match.

After the friendly matches in October the Super Eagle’s will then face Sierra Leone for the AFCON qualifiers home and away on November 9 and November 17.
