Kevin Akpogunma has decided to play for his father’s land Nigeria.
His mother is from Germany and has a a Nigerian father which means he is eligible to play for both country at international level, and he has now decided that he will be lining up for ‘The Super Eagles’ in the future.
The 25-year-old told his club (Hoffenheim) website “I have been considering this for quite some time. I’m not at an age, where I have already gained experience at international level with TSG and feel ready to play for my country.”
The Center back have played for Germany 62 times at all youth level and also captained them.
He will be expecting a call up from Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr in the next international break in November, as the coach have already a team already for October friendlies.
