Hammarby forward and former Golden Eaglets star, Akinkunmi Amoo has revealed that the Bajen was always his preferred destination as he already had contact with the club prior to the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil 2019.

The 2019 Golden Eaglets team member joined the Swedish side Hammarby on eight of June 2020 as he put pen to paper on a four-year deal.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with OJB Akin revealed that he and Hammarby were already on the same page since 2018, as they watched him dazzle at a scouting program in Ivory Coast.

“The team I play for [Sidos FC] went on a scouting program in Ivory Coast, travelling by road.

“We spent four days on the road while going to Ivory Coast, it was there I caught the attention of Hammarby Football Club.

” I had already met Harmmarby before the FIFA U-17 World Cup,” He said.

The Sidos FC product rejected possible moves to several European clubs, including french giants Monaco and Italian Serie A side AC Milan, before agreeing to terms with Hammarby.

The 18-year-old is looking forward to helping the Swedish side get a UEFA competition spot as the season progresses.
