Plateau State is set to witness the emergence of the first ever cycling club in the state come October 1, 2020.

While Nigeria will be celebrating her 60th independence anniversary on that very day, history will be made in Plateau as Red Crown Cycling Club will be launched at the Jose polo field.

The unveiling which has been slated to take place in the afternoon by 2:30pm will see the Director of Sports, Plateau State Simon Moven officially unveiling the cycling club.

The proprietor of the club, James Amidu while speaking with OJBSPORTS said he so excited to see the kickoff of Red Crown. Amidu who is also the current Chairman of the Plateau State Cycling Association called on private individuals to lend their support towards the growth of sports and not just cycling.

Regarded as one of the best chairman in sporting associations in the state where under his leadership, the association have had immense improvement which the national body, the Cycling Federation of Nigeria (CFN) have recognised.

Amidu, however, disclosed that his role as the Chairman will not be affected.

There will be an awareness ride from polo field round about to hill station junction.

In other to encourage the young ones, the club will organise a cycling competition for cyclists under the age of ten at the unveiling.
