In the fourth round of the third Grand Slam of the year, Dominic Thiem was able to stand tall against in-form Hugo Gaston’, as Simona Halep’s dream of bagging the second French Open title was vanished.

The Austrian faces Diego Schwartzman at the quarterfinals of the Grand Slam. Schwartzman had beaten Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego earlier today.


Germany’s Alex Zverev fell to Jannik Sinner on four straight set,3-6, 3-6, 6-4, 3-6. The Italian will be facing Nadal at the final eight of the contest.


World number two, Simona Halep was overwhelmed Iga Swiatek on two straight set, 1-6, 2-6. The Polish will be facing Italy’s Martina Trevisan, who had earlier defeated Kiki Bertens today, on 6-4, 6-4 win at Suzzane Lenglen.

Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina advanced to the quarter-final of French Open, as she upset Carolina Garcia at Philippe Chartrier, 6-1, 6-3, it ended. The world number five will proceed on her third quarter final against Nadia Podoroska that defeated Barbora Krejcikova. The Argentine’s entry into French Open final eight is her first in Grand Slam.
