World number two, Rafael Nadal proposed to play a different ball game against his next opponent, Diego Schwartzman to get to the final of the 2020 French Open.
Recall that the Argentine number twelve seed upset Nadal at the crucial stage of the Italian Open three weeks ago before Novak Djokovic put an end to his reign.
Schwartzman summoned courage that he is ‘confident’ to ‘beat’ the French Open centurion in their second meeting in weeks. “But, yeah, I know this week that I can beat him. That’s important thing.” he said.
However, when asked about his return tie with the 28-year-old Argentine, in a post-match conference after his resounding victory again Jannik Sinner, the six-foot-one inch Spaniard took it as a great challenge to face the fourteenth world tennis player, hinting for a new tactics against him.
“It’s a challenge to play Diego. If I lost to But, yeah, I know this week that I can beat him. That’s important thing, of the best players in the world. Final in Rome, semifinals here,” he said
“He beat me there and that’s a plus of confidence for him before our match. I will need to play my game, play aggressive, try to do something a little bit different than what I did in Rome.” he added
Schwartzman broke the jinx of beating Spain’s seed number two in Italy, after past nine meetings at which Nadal upended him in all.
