Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil has been omitted from the club’s UEFA Europa league group stage squad.

The 31-year-old playmaker is yet to feature in any competitive game for the club since the project restart last season. He has also not been able to make the match day squad in all of Arsenal’s six games played so far this season.

Ozil was linked with a move away from Arsenal all through the summer transfer window as the club was so eager to move him away from the Emirates stadium. But the 2014 world Cup winner is said to be very reluctant to leave the club as he is very comfortable with life in London.

His unwillingness to leave the club despite having suitors has caused a big rift between him and the club’s management team which prompted to him not being featured in games so far. According to reports from @jamesbenge Ozil alongside Papastathopoulos Sokratis has been omitted from the club’s Europa league group stage squad this season despite still being at the club.

This surely pass a clear message that the former Real Madrid playmaker will not be drafted in the club’s playing squad any time soon, and he would continue taking home his hefty pay-cheque by just sitting at home.

Since Ozil joined Arsenal in 2012/2013 from Real Madrid for a then club record fee of 42 million pounds, he has always been dividing opinions among the club surporters and football journalists, with some believing he so lazy to play for a top team while some believed he is an excellent player if surrounded with the wright players.

The ex-Germany International is the club’s highest paid player taking home 350,000 pounds per-week.
