Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has revealed that he dreams to be crowned Africa’s Best Player of the year someday in his career.
The 21 year old recently moved from french side Lille OSC to Italian Serie A giants Napoli for €80m, making him the most expensive African player ever.
In an interview with the Napoli media team, the Super Eagles striker discussed his dream to win the CAF Footballer Of The Year’s gong.
“My dream is to become the African Footballer of the Year, and I think I still have a long way to go in achieving that dream. I’m really working towards that direction and I think I’m on the right path,”
The 2015 FIFA U-17 Men’s World Cup golden boot winner also said that he looks up to Ivorian legend who Didier Drogba.
Oshimen revealed that the former Chelsea striker played a huge role in shaping his football career.
“Drogba is someone I look up to. A man asked me who I played like and I said I didn’t know. He asked me to go to YouTube and check out Drogba and that was where I fell in love with the kind of player and man he is. He has added a lot to my game that is helping me out till today.”
