Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says his team deserved more following their defeat at Etihad Stadium by Manchester City.
Arsenal lost their second game of the Premier League season yesterday following a 1 – 0 defeat by Manchester City. City took the lead from a rebound by Raheem Sterling in the first half after Arsenal goalkeeper had made an initial save from a shot inside the 18 yard box.
Though City dominated ball positions for most of the game, Arsenal were able to catch them on the break with counter attacks on several occasions but where let down by poor finishing and good saves from City goalkeeper Ederson.
Arsenal have lost in all their last 3 visits to Etihad in a row but Mikel Arteta believes his team did not deserve to lose yesterday and deserves more. In his words he has this to say “I am upset because I think we deserved more from the game. I’m extremely happy about the performance we put in today, to come here & play with the attitude & have courage to play the way we played & make it as difficult as we made.”
On his players performance he said “I have to say I cannot demand much more from the players [in terms of performance], apart from when you have three big chances in this game, you have to score. The three of them were really good [chances].”
Arsenal currently sits on the 5th position in the Premier league table with 9points from 5 games, and their next league game action will be at home to Leicester City on 25th of this month.
