The head of licencing division in Borussia Dortmund Sebastian Kehl spoke to the media ahead of his team champions league clash against Serie A side SS Lazio which will be played on Tuesday night.

The former Dortmund captain said “All in all, Lazio have not made a good start to the season. Nonetheless, they have a very dangerous, very experienced team and will be delighted to return to the Champions League after many years,”

“But we have good reason to hope we can go through in this group. We need to start that process tomorrow. If we produce a really good performance, we’ll at least pick up a point.”

The BVB side will be with out Emre Can, Manuel Akanji and Dan-Axel Zagadou for their game in Italy whilst Lukasz Piszczek could yet be ruled out after suffering an eye injury in Sinsheim on Saturday.

The 40-year-old ended it by saying “It would be fantastic if he could play. That would significantly ease our problems in defence. He is doing considerably better. He absolutely wants to be involved.”

BVB defender Matt Hummels spoke on how he would neutralize the Lazio striker Ciro Immobile as the Italian pose a serious threat to the Bundesliga side.

He said “The best way to stop any good striker is by giving him as few opportunities as possible. Ciro has been ruthless in front of goal for the past few years.”

The last time the BVB side traveled away to play the Italian side was in the 1995 UEFA Cup quarter final in which they lost nil but still qualified to the next round via aggregate 2-1.
