Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hailed the club’s summer acquisition pair of Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhães as great signings following their impressive performance at Old Trafford.
Arsenal secured a hard fought victory over Manchester United in the Premier league at Old Trafford for the first time in 14 years.
The North London club was awarded a penalty in the 69th minute of the second half after Pogba tripped Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin inside United’s 18 yard box, Aubameyang converted the spot kick and the only goal of the game to secure all 3points for Mikel Arteta’s side.
The 31-year-Old striker was full of praise for their summer singings Thomas Partey and Gabriel Magalhães after the game and has this to say about the pair, “Partey and Gabriel are great signings As I said, the team did a great job, I’m really happy with all the boys, everyone was giving the best today and that’s why we won. We knew since the beginning we have to trust the process the coach is bringing something very, very nice and everyone wants to follow this way.
On what it feels like to win a Premier league game at Old Trafford after a long time he said “Very big! It’s been a very tough night but I’m really happy because the team did very well. It’s been a long time we didn’t win here, so of course today it’s a big win. We were in control, We managed well the first-half and second-half we had the penalty and scored. Then everyone wants to defend to keep the score & we managed well at the end. A great night!”
The victory over Manchester United moved Arsenal to 12 points from 7 games and they are currently four points behind the league leader Liverpool who has 16points from the same number of games.
Arsenal will be back in action on Thursday night when they take on Swedish side Molde at the Emirates stadium in their UEFA Europa league group game three.
